Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/02/2014

Number: 1

I am still waiting to find eggs in my garden in Mishicot. My swamp milkweed is about 10 inches tall. There have been eggs found within 1/2 mile of Lake Michigan (about 8 miles east of here) It has been noticed in past years that the Lakeshore areas seem to have eggs laid about 2 weeks earlier than in the more inland areas, as well as 2 weeks later in the latter part of the breeding season. This is most likely due to the milder climate closer to the lake.
