Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 06/02/2014

Number: 1

Our resident female Ruby-throated Hummingbird likes the yellow flowers on our pea tree. We see her there every morning taking nectar from the blossoms. After she has completed her first round of feeding, she sits on a bare branch, cleans herself and seemingly sharpens her bill. Afterwards, another round of taking nectar and then she is off. It is a delight to watch. I have decided she deliberately poses on the one branch long enough for me to take her picture!!
