Today Todd Stout, a well known Utah lepidopterist wrote: "I saw my first Monarch female of the year this afternoon on wing. She was flying in Neff's Canyon, Salt Lake County, Utah; likely seeking out Asclepias speciosa which grow in pockets in our riparian canyons." Neff's Canyon is in the foothills southeast of downtown Salt Lake City.
