Today the last two monarch butterflies were born of the caterpillars I had raised indoors. It was lovely that they were a male and a female, both healthy, & flew away in good form. The total I raised indoors was 7 with these dates of birth: female (5/2/14), female (5/5/14), male (5/7/14), male (5/8/14), female (5/13/14), 1 male & 1 female (5/15/14). The photo is of the male who was born on May 8. It was a joy to see them through their growth and transformation & now a hope that they will successfully make their journey north!
