I found 5 first instar caterpillars on milkweed plants on a street corner where I have often found them in the past. I have gone looking several times already this year, and this is the first sign of monarchs that I have seen. I am very excited to find them! We did not see a single monarch last year, after raising 50 of them in 2012. I'm so glad they are back!
