Saw the first Monarch of the year in my backyard this afternoon at 4:00 pm. It landed momentarily on a dandelion flower and appeared to be in excellent condition. The afternoon was sunny, in the low 70s, with a breeze from the southwest. The Monarch was a welcome sight since last summer I did not see many in my area.
