Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/05/2014

Number: 1

YEA!! My first monarch of the spring! I spotted her while cutting grass today. She was cruising the 1 acre pasture in our backyard that is full of Asclepias syriaca and Asclepias tuberose. I have been checking milkweed for eggs daily but have not seen any. I did not have a chance to check after my sighting as it started to rain. I will check tomorrow for eggs.

Last year was my latest first sighting: June 17th
My earliest sighting was May 5th, 2012
