An adult Monarch butterfly visited several Common Milkweed plants on our property, Waystation #6958. Could not get a close view to confirm, but I think it was a male. It sat on a milkweed plant, then dashed out to spar with and chase off a small butterfly that entered the area, then went back to perch on the plant. The Monarch would sit on one milkweed plant, fly to another and sit, then repeat the same pattern. I checked plants and no eggs were found. So glad for the visit!
