Wild-growing Butterfly-weed (Asclepias tuberosa) is common this year, and I was surprised and elated to find a Monarch and 6 other species nectoring on it this morning about a mile from the house. I've seen one other Monarch in SC this year, over a month ago.
BTW, although butterfly-weed (Asclepias tuberosa) is common here, I have never seen Common Milkweed (A. syriaca) here which is so common in New York where I lived for 25 years.
