Temperature in mid 6os, slight wind from southwest, sunny afternoon. Field in front of St Scholastica with stands of milkweed about 3 ft mixed with lupine, Ramsey, Dame's Rockets. Adult butterfly dipping into the field at various locations.

Retrieved 6 eggs for raising indoors. No caterpillars , though small holes in several leaves.
