On 16th June Monday around 2pm it was very windy. I was just looking from my dining room window and suddenly spotted a fabulous big orangish butterfly flitting and landed on the twig of the Pondorosa tree. It stayed for along time. So I went with my camera and I was only like 6 feet away and took several pictures. It did not seem to mind my coming closer. I waited to see whether I can take a picture with open wings. No luck. After a few minutes it did fly and came to Rockymountain blue Penstemon and landed with closed wings.
