On Saturday, June 7, Leonard Foltz, co-owner of Dancing Oaks Nursery, observed two monarchs flying around a patch of Asclepias speciosa milkweed he planted in the ground on nursery property several years ago at 17900 Priem Rd, Monmouth, Oregon 97361 which is about six miles southwest of the town of Monmouth, Oregon. An Oregon State University biologist who was visiting the nursery at the time said one of the monarchs appeared to be a female laying eggs.
