Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

I stopped at this park that I never knew about! It's called Lizard Park. It is an old Indian Burial Ground dating to 500AD to 1000AD, and contains at least 28 animal-shaped mounds, with paths going all around them. Anyway, I saw DOZENS of Monarchs flying around and plenty of Milkweed to go around. The only downside is that if you stray off the path, you will get poison ivy on you. I highly recommend visiting this unknown park.

I'm positive (of monarch ID). I was so elated that I had to tell Barb Agnew (Friends of the Monarch Trail). This is a relatively new park erected by the Ho-Chunk tribe.

If had to give you a firm number, I would say 20. I don't have pictures. We did check the milkweeds for eggs, etc. Due to the incredible amount of poison ivy, you couldn't stray off the path.

Remember, this parcel was 20 acres, so that's about 1 Monarch per acre. Google Maps is out of date. They cut down a lot of the oaks so you could see the burial mounds.
