Finally,my first monarch butterfly appeared in my garden this morning. It was flitting around my dozen or so milkweed plants in kind of a frantic display. It finally settled a few times on the leaves and it did lays some eggs on the undersides of the leaves. Afterwards it rested in the sun on a nearby arbor vitae tree. Compared to last year when I saw only one in my yard in the fall, this is wonderful to see.
