We have observed the transformation of the first Monarch caterpillar to the pupa stage this morning. It was amazing to note the distance the caterpillar traveled from the milkweed to the salvia where it attached itself to form the beautiful pale green cocoon - about 30 feet. Truly a remarkable feat.
