We witnessed four adult monarch butterflies in a field with tall grasses and milkweed. Three of them only landed for a few seconds. One landed on the branch of a pine tree above our heads for several minutes. It looked very healthy. We caught one of them in a butterfly wing. It had a torn wing but could still fly well.
