We observed a lone female Monarch on our tropical milkweed. We have a yard full of the larger Asclepias but only the milkweed bugs/beetles and bees seem attracted to them. We have a lot of the larger milkweed plants in our yard (once planted, they are there for the long-haul!) but the plants get quite tall with very thick, leathery leaves. I typically cut them back once the blooms are spent. Do caterpillars find the large, thick leaves difficult to eat?
