Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/05/2014

Number: 5

Warm summer day, light breeze. There are plentiful Milkweed plants at the Germania Marsh State Wildlife Area--Common, Swamp, Whorled, Butterfly Weed, and probably Purple (although I didn't see any Purple Milkweed on Saturday). All but Whorled were in bloom. Many species of butterflies were present, including monarchs. We saw about five monarchs during the two hours we were there. We also saw some earlier in the day at the Stan-O-Gene N Park near Neshkoro, Wis.
