Seen at the Powassan Sewage Lagoons. Some milkweed plants there, but the ones I examined had not been eaten. Then drove to nearby Alsace Road where there were some milkweed plants by the side of the road and all that I saw had been eaten. This was my first sighting of a Monarch this summer, although there may have been one in my yard on July 3 or 4, but could not get close enough to ensure it was a Monarch and not a Viceroy.
