I witnessed an adult female monarch flying around the milkweed in my butterfly garden. She fed from the butterfly weed, milkweed, coneflowers, and gold mound spirea. She flew back to the milk weed and laid 1 egg (that I witnessed.) It was my first sighting of 2014.
