I was delighted to see my first monarch fluttering over my backyard flower garden!!! There is butterfly weed blooming in that flower garden. I did not go close enough to observe if it was a male or female. I have a huge milkweed patch growing close-by so I'm hoping it was a female who placed her eggs in my garden. I hope to raise at least 50 to tag this year.
