This has to be the busiest season so far for monarchs laying eggs on the milkweed in my garden. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever see a monarch this year but as of about ten days ago I have seen a female laying eggs almost daily and sometimes multiple times in a day. I have already collected 65 eggs and they are now various stages of development. I have 31 eggs waiting to hatch and after they become cats I will start collecting more eggs. I am so glad I have so many milkweed plants in my garden as I am going to need them in the coming weeks. Great year so far!
