Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 07/14/2014

Number: 1

Last week we had 2 monarchs in the garden. The week before, 3. This week we see only one (or one at a time). But more eggs.

I am trying to pull the common milkweed that has some rust or patches of pin-prick sized orange dots - not sure what that is. I look for eggs very carefully on those plants. And there is a ton of asclepius tuberosa that is in good health, but harder to look for eggs there.

Seem like I have something like a bird eating larva. Wrens? Robins? Sparrows? Holes seemingly pecked in milkweed leaves, sliced and milk seeping out, not like caterpillar holes or bug/beetle holes.
