We observed our first adult Monarch of the season today; a small Female. We grow Milkweed and Butterfly Bushes for the Monarchs each year, and had been hoping to see some Monarchs on the purple blooms of the latter, as in other years. Tonight at 4pm she appeared; drinking nectar from the blooms., along with large bees and some Sphinx Moths. She is a brownish tinge; not a bright orange, but definitely a Female Monarch!
