Monarch feeding on monarda. This is the very first sighting of the year. I have seen swallowtails, but no monarchs. Last summer I saw a total of just two monarchs. So depressing!

There is an organic farm next to me. One of the fields that has been fallow for a few years has good sized stand of milkweed growing in it. The owner has agreed to plant around it!
