The Virginia Living Museum AKA Monarch Waystation #299 reports that one monarch was sighted nectaring on butterflyweed growing in the Virginia Garden early in the morning before opening @9 am by Horticulture staff. Another monarch was sighted resting on a hawthorn a short time later, in another garden on the grounds. Genders undetermined in both cases. The locations are about 50 yards apart, so they are not certain if this is 2 sightings of the same butterfly or 2 separate butterflies.
