A single monarch on two days this week.
I either saw another one, or probably the same Monarch this morning. Until last November I lived in Long Beach, California, where I had Monarch gardens in both my front park way and my back yard. The lady across has hone in her back yard as well. So I have seen quite a few Monarch Butterfly's. I have had the opportunity to watch them from caterpillar to crysilist, to having the yards abundant with the butterfly's.
I think that I can catch a picture. I'll keep my camera at the ready. I haven't seen any milkweed here at all. Next year part of my fields will be planted for my beloved Monarch's.
Yes, I'm confident it was a monarch. My husband also saw the Monarch several times. A couple of my neighbors are also from southern California and they saw the Monarch too. Of course when I started trying to capture a picture, I would be out in the fields and boy can they move fast. I live on three acres, it's amazing how fast they cross a field.
