Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 07/24/2014

Number: 1

This larva is the first Monarch sighting of any kind this year. Better late than never. This appears to be the most northerly sighting so far. With a bit of luck we will soon report an adult sighting and the Monarchs will continue their migration on throughout the prairies.

Editor's Note: This sighting was reported in the 'first larva' category. We are adding it to 'first monarch' since it's evidence that monarch adults are present at this location. Given the size of the larva, the date of this 'first adult' record should be adjusted accordingly.
