Observed two 5th instar Monarch Butterfly caterpillars on Asclepias tuberosa in my front yard (Murfreesboro, TN) for 3 days. Have not seen a chrysalis, but they were ready to leave the host plant judging by their size and the fact that they were there one day and the next they were both gone. Research on the internet indicates that I should not be seeing them here in late July, so I sent a email to a Waystation in Murfreesboro (also found them online - Monarch Meadow Waystation) to ask about it. In their reply, they sent me a link to you to report my sighting.
