Followed this singled Monarch on a country road and tried for 15 minutes to get a photo, but it flew off or was disturbed by cars. Eventually it flew back to my feet and I got this picture as it rested on the roadside gravel. The next day two of us saw a single Monarch but only fleetingly, about half a mile away along a lake edge. Not much milkweed around but there was sufficient I think. I had seen Monarch caterpillars in past years at this location.
