Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/18/2014

Number: 1

I observed at least 12 big and small but healthy Monarch caterpillars munching on the milkweed in our little Safety Harbor, FL backyard garden (please see attached photo) on Friday, 7/18/14. We are hoping to see some Monarchs emerging shortly and are keeping a daily watch. We had seen one lone Monarch butterfly we believe is responsible for laying these eggs. We have seen additional butterfly species as well these last few weeks - black and yellow swallowtails, frittarlaries, big yellow butterflies, etc. and wanted to report our sighting. Peace, love and butterflies!
