SIGH. I have lived hereabouts for 14 years. Until 2013, I always found Monarchs here, sometimes in great abundance. Last year, 2013, despite the presence of milkweed plants and NE asters, red clover, and other plants Monarchs require to thrive, I saw NONE. This year, despite peering into milkweeds very carefully, I see no pupae. NONE. Like a knife in the heart.
