Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 07/27/2014

Number: 1

I have a butterfly garden near my vegetable garden with hundreds of zinnias in full bloom and about 30 Milkweed Bloodflower plants in full bloom - the beautiful Monarch was going from plant to plant partaking of all the Bloodflower blooms. I have never seen a Monarch in my area this early before!

Editor's Note: Milkweed Bloodflower is a common name for Asclepias curassavica.
