I found the caterpillar on a plant I had bought from a local nursery. I had an observation kit that I kept it in. I gave it a steady supply of milkweed until formed a chrysalis. It stayed in that form for about 9 days. Today she hatched, and I released her. I could tell by the wings that she was female. I had hoped that she would stick around for a while, but she immediately flew up into the trees and then was gone.
