Five large monarch caterpillars and one chrysalis were easily located on modest amounts of Asclepias fascicularis milkweed plants that were growing along the west side of Midway Road about 1 mile north of the town of Nelson, Calif. and about 5 miles north of Richvale in the central Sacramento Valley of California on August 4, 2014 (Lat./Long.: 39.562406, -121.768667) 3 minute video:
