This is the first pair I have seen this summer, and most of my milkweed is past the blooming stage. I saw one adult last week (8/1/14)and that was the first monarch of the summer. I have about 1/2 acre of milkweed, thistle, goldenrod, iron weed, clover, etc. as well as milkweed around the pond -- I have always had more monarchs, and they are usually spotted much earlier, so I am glad to see them!
