After preserving a stand of more than 100 milkweed, with nary a sight of a monarch in two years, finally saw the first of the year sunning in the gravel parking lot of a local self-storage company.Accompanied by a Great Spangled Fritillary and a White Admiral.
Had fleeting glimpse of another or same monarch same location a week later.
Open field nearby has many milkweed, but owner plans to mow it soon.
