Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/03/2014

Number: 3

I saw three more monarchs after the earlier one I reported on August 1 (?). These three new ones were on milkweed at Riley Run Headwaters on the outskirts of Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania. The area is also known as "the mill dam." It's an uninhabited area, but has kind of been trashed by the paper mill and is sort of being reclaimed. A lot of milkweed. A pond. A stream. Fields. Trees.

The monarchs were all moving around feeding on milkweed near a stream, I didn't see any egg laying. It might have been Mexican milkweed. I am attaching a picture of one of them.
