Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 07/30/2014

Number: 1

It has been a long wait for Monarchs to show up in Bismarck, but have had a few adults beginning on July 16. I found eggs on July 26 and found larvae (4) on July 30. I'm seeing more adults and yesteday (August5), I had 4 and 5 adults nectaring in my flowers all day and so I visited a seed dealers field about 6 miles NE of Bismark and found at least 15 adults nectaring on Liatris Liguilstuylus (meadow blazing star) which is what they were nectaring on in my yard. Also, butterfly bush (Buddlea sp) started blooming this week and they love it.
