Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/07/2014

Number: 1

We have 240+ monarchs in the chrysalis stage that should emerge in the next few days. These were raised from eggs we collected in our garden from monarchs we released in late June/early July. We will release these monarchs on two farms where there is an abundance of milkweed and nectar plants.

We have searched many acres in the last month and a half and have found minimal evidence of monarch activity outside of our backyard. This is both disappointing and disturbing.

It is our hope that the eggs laid in this final generation will boost the numbers here in our area.

Baby steps................. :)
