Spotted what I believe are five monarch larvae, very early instar stage of development, on common milkweed at the Trinity Church outdoor sanctuary. The larvae were all about the same size, black head, subtle black striping, all on different leaves of the same milkweed plant. I saw at least one adult monarch butterfly in this milkweed patch a week or so ago.
