We've just learned about your site and have 16 caterpillars growing and feasting on milkweed. We have already released over twenty after protecting them through the chrysalis phase from frogs and lizards. We have a host plant for adults to lay eggs, food plants in a covered area, a tank we move more mature caterpillars into with fresh milkweed leaves every 12 hours. They form a chrysalis inside, when emerged we catch gently and release. My five kids ages 9-2 manage their habitat, food source, sun exposure, etc for homeschool. We also host Gulf Fritillaries and are experimenting with Blue Swallowtails.
