On July 31, 2014 I watched a monarch lay eggs in my garden. On 7/31 I collected 29 eggs. The next day, 8/1 I watched either the same monarch or another female lay more eggs. I gathered another 14 eggs. Of these 43 eggs 36 larva hatched. 30 of the larva were given to qualified educational groups to encourage our very own next generation of gardeners and scientists!
On August 7th, another female laid eggs in my garden. Now I have another 7 new caterpillars!
