I saw a lonely male monarch feeding on my butterfly bush and zinnia's. He had a torn wing, but was flying just fine. He was the first sighting I've had this year, but after seeing him I checked my milkweed and found eggs and a few tiny caterpillars! There must have been a female come by within the past few days. It was getting late last night so I had a hard time finding them and plan to check again this evening.
I've had a huge problem with swamp milkweed bugs this year and they have really hurt my milkweed, but I think I should still have plenty of food for them!
