Noticed a monarch in my flower garden. The lower wings had glands spots, so it was a male. It ignored all the other types of flowers in bloom and sipped exclusively on milkweed blooms. If approaching a bloom that had a bumblebee it passed on to a different bloom. Twice it landed on blooms that had honeybees. The honeybee flew away both times. We are having winds strong enough to really bend the milkweed plants. The butterfly was unphased. It circled the yard one time but came immediatly back to the milkweed. The monarch stayed over half and hour.
