I saw a female lay the eggs outdoors in my garden on August 10. I brought 6 indoors to raise safely. I left some outdoors and I am keeping an eye on them.
The eggs (inside and outside) hatched this morning (8/15/14).
I thought those outside would develop more quickly because it was warmer outside, but we actually had some evening temps in low 60’s for 3 nights. Inside was actually warmer at night--so it must have balanced out.
Incidentally, I brought the eggs inside because in the spring the didn't make it to the butterfly stage. Too many wasps.
