My only surviving Monarch caterpillar, which I found on July 20 and made his chrysalis on August 2, eclosed today around 5:45pm. I think I just missed seeing him emerge, as his wings were very crumpled. Hanging from his empty chrysalis for a while. Will release tomorrow. It is a male.
