While traveling on I-40 towards Knoxville, I saw a large patch of A. Syriaca just past the Carthage exit. I pulled over to see if the seed pods were splitting open yet only to spot an adult Monarch (already reported) and a 3rd instar caterpillar (see attached photo). I brought the cat home to raise as there were also several hungry wasps flying around.
