Mid-day, Saturday: while pulling weeds in front yard garden, I sighted an injured Monarch. The bottom third of its wings was torn and there were holes in the wing body. I placed the Monarch on a yellow marigold annual inside a square planter. After searching Internet for care of 'Monarch unable to fly', a plate of sugar water with small mango and ripe banana pieces was placed inside the planter. I'm writing this report Tuesday evening, August 19 and the Monarch remains in the planter.
