FIRST Monarch of the year in my backyard, a female. Nectaring 100% of the time observed on white butterfly bush despite a profusion of flowering natives and annuals throughout my large yard. This was not a migrant, this was a carefree, nectaring Monarch. No eggs found on the common or tuberosa milkweeds that evening.

Last year the FIRST Monarch arrived in my backyard on Aug 15. Better late than never.
